Attitude is everything

I asked my wife this question the other night:

"How can tonight be made more fun given all the pain I am in?"

"Please tell me: what can I do for fun when I've been in bed all day and my joints are killing and I can barely walk? I feel cabin fever and really want to have just a little bit of fun.
What do I do when my heels are both sore, probably from the Prednisone and just walking 20 steps is agony unless I have very plush shoes on?"

Given all these limitations, she wisely looked to me to answer my own question. After a moment of dumbfounded silence, the answer became obvious to me! Nicky Nine Doors!

So we very slowly hobbled up one floor in our building and started knocking on people's doors. Let me tell you, when you can barely walk faster than an ant, this game gets fun quickly. Can you imagine someone knocking on your door, giggling wildly and then hobbling away on crutches?

Perhaps next time cabin fever and arthritis co-mingle, we should look at other alternatives like Twister or Turkish Oil Wrestling. Why let arthritis symptoms stop us from having fun?

See? Attitude is everything. Don't let the IBD stop you from enjoying life!
