resilience

Its been 2 months since my surgery.  I've forgotten much of the feeling of glass shards in my behind that colitis gave.  I no longer have to do a BM 20+ times a day.  I am no longer anaemic and feeling so deathly ill.

Today I walked for nearly 2 hours up and down hills in minus 15 degree celcius weather.  I did 15 pushups and did pullups and situps.  My body is getting stronger and stronger.  It's kind of amazing actually how just a few weeks ago I could barely walk more than a few feet without having to sit down.  It also amazes me how I am craving more substantial food, not the junk I craved in years prior.

Soon I will start rockclimbing and mountain biking.  And weight lifting.  Unfortunately, I still nearly faint when changing the flange because I continue to have issues with poo.  On the bright side, my wife helps me change the bag as she is much cooler about these things than I am.   In an interesting way, this bag changing actually brings us closer together as I can no longer try to be an island and "manly" but allow her to help me.
