A whole night without sleep

Cramps every hour. Unable to sleep more than an hour at a time and the moment I awaken the prednisone keeps me awake for another hour or three. It's currently 6.30am, Friday morning and I've managed to sleep about 2 hours so far. I have no idea what's causing this, if its the glucose-control boost drink I use to add calories... or if its the hotdogs I've been eating (all beef)...or the uneven dosing of hydrocortisone I've been able to take. Just wishing it would end before I go loopy!

  1. Can you take a sleep aid? I used to rely on Tylenol's "Simply Sleep". Its the sleep aid that's normally used in Tylenol PM, but it doesn't contain the acemetophine (sp?) - just the sleep aid. What I liked about it was that it didn't put me in a coma, so if I had to get up to run to the bathroom, I would still wake up.

Also, if you can handle herbal tea, try Bigelow's Sweet Dreams tea.

  2. I use a combo of tranquilizers and benadryl and codeine now. The best is the benadryl still!
