With chronic illness I barely could walk or do much of anything. I had my surgery and for the first couple of months could barely walk. I finally could walk and then suddenly got stronger, very quickly.
2 weeks ago I returned to my government job. Today my contract was not renewed.
In other words, I returned from surgery and 2 weeks later became unemployed. My work performance, when I was there, was top-notch and I added value without getting caught up in the politics. Apparently council modified the budget and did not need my position any more. Despite my bosses telling me days ago that I can count on a long career with them. Despite me coming in when I was ill (I somehow forced myself into the office 10 of the last 12 months even though I should have been in a hospital bed, but I rejected 3 doctors' advice on the matter)
This sucks right now. It hurts feeling let down by your employer. But I know I'll get over it and move on to greener pastures. I know that one day things will be great and I'll look back on this and see it as a blessing.
Just another wound to lick and get back up and keep on fighting.
That sux, Steven! You will get through this though. You survived UC, so you can survive anything that gets thrown your way. I'm sure you will move on to bigger and better things. Sending positive thoughts your way...
ReplyDeleteJunior,
ReplyDeleteThis sucks. Yeah, there are all the "silver linings" and open doors, but it still sucks. I am keeping my eyes open for you, not that you need any help finding a good $$ job.
